Zoo Johor is located on Jalan Gertak Merah and although it has only been open to the public since 1962 it is actally one of the oldest zoo's in Malaysia dating back to 1928 when it was first opened by Sultan Ibrahim of the Johor royal family.
Admission is cheap at RM3 for adults and RM2 for children and it is open daily from 9:00am until 6:00om. The bird show is the best reason to visit and it is sure to keep the kids entertained, as it is not a large zoo you can easily see all the animals inside two hours and probably still have time for renting a peddle boat on the small lake inside the zoo.
